I have heard the S will do somewhere around 120 MPH indicated has anyone tested this theory yet? I know green ones will do 100..... with a lot left! :smile2:

My Little old Ninja 500 did 132 indicated so the Sport should do at least 115 considering aero drag and weight.

Maybe downhill with a tail wind!:laugh2:

I got mine up to 180km/h but man it took ages to get those last few. Really ran out of puff after 170km/h.
I honestly don't think I'd be able to hit that now with a thru exhaust. I can get er' up faster but top end is gone.

I maxed mine out at 117 MPH on the speedo. I'd guesstimate a true 110 MPH perhaps? I'm a big, heavy guy. I could easily see it creep up to 120 with someone without so much resistance.

Err, as a disclaimer I um did it on a closed course with full permission of local law enforcement..ahem.

I only got mine to 106. It was doing that thing where it flips between 105/106 really quickly, refusing to go any faster. I'm 5'10 and 210 lbs.

~110mph is more than enough, IMO. The only thing I require of my bikes is that they can get to 85-90 relatively quickly for highway purposes. That's why I went from a Ninja 300 to a ZX6R...once I (5'11" and 235 at time - 220 currently) got to 75 on that thing, it fell flat on it's face although it could do around 100. My ZX6R, even after 3 years of a super close bond (giggidy lol) still scares me sometimes. That thing is just an animal.

Going slower is part of why I want a Vulcan. It rides like a sport bike, comfortable like a cruiser and inherently is slower so my right wrist will be a bit more tame and not so eager to do 130 everywhere.

Mine goes to 160kph fairly quickly, although still has the LAMS throttle stop

Plenty fast enough for Aussie back roads

When l fit the new rear shock & recover from my operation l'll do a Track day & really make it hum

To date l've been most impressed with my Vulcan S

I probably should have mentioned I weigh 92kg and I'm tall. Effectively a human sail.
I also had my shield and bags on at the time.

I hit 101mph up here in the mountains one time. Elevation is 6800ft and it was a good straight stretch. I didn't want to get greedy and was only curious to see what triple digit would look like \m/

I hit 113mph without even realizing it. Looked at speedo and...Oops!

And she still had room to go; I'm 155lb.
Let me add, I am not a proponent of riding this fast!!!! I have weak moments I guess...

That's the downside of a bike like the Vulcan. You WILL get caught lol. I was doing about 95 in a 55 yesterday (I-87 in Albany, NY) and a trooper hit his brakes a few time for me to warn me to slow down but I don't think he had any intention of pulling out after me because he knew there was a chance I'd go from 95 to 160 in a matter of 10 seconds lol. Will have to be smarter once I downgrade (power wise) to the Vulcan as I won't have ~137hp (tuned and modded) at my disposal.

Mine seemed to peg at 103 mph. That was on my way home from a trip with the saddle bags full and duffle bag on the luggage rack. Not to mention a strong head wind. No other mods either besides the bags. '15 lime green.

Multiple times I have done it, usually 107-110mph on speedometer and it bounces between 106-107mph or 109-110mph and won't go higher. seems once you hit about 95mph the power dies off rapidly. Stock bike, 6ft 215lbs rider.
My 650r would do speedometer 130mph, not sure if it would go faster or not, I just let off. my old Vulcan 900 custom would do about 95mph with windscreen and 99mph without. Everything speedometer indicated, I don't have GPS on my bikes.

Well I still don't think it would be possible for a stock Vulcan S to reach the fabled 120m/h (192km/h) without some sort of assistance.
To reach that speed the engine needs to be at 8935 rpm. She'd be howling for a long and painful time to reach that in top gear.
Also I don't think it would be a true 120mph as our bike is renowned to read faster speed on dash than reality.
